Hookl und Stool is a contemporary furniture manufacturer based in Barajevo, near Belgrade, Serbia, that specializes in sculptural solid wood designs. Founded in 2006 by Aleksandar and Jelena Ugrešić, the company produces handmade seating, tables, and decorative lighting. Their in-house artisans combine traditional woodworking techniques with modern aesthetics. Every piece is made to order.
The brand sources premium regional hardwoods like walnut, elm, cherry, pear, and acacia. These materials are finished exclusively with natural waxes and oils. Hookl und Stool pairs these solid wood frames with fine leathers, natural boucle upholstery, and high-resilience foam. Signature pieces include the Tisa Armchair, which features a distinctive bent knee profile inspired by a grasshopper. Another standout is the Sila Armchair, known for its spherical shell and muscular armrests.
Operating primarily on a trade-focused model, the company does not publish standard retail pricing. They collaborate closely with independent designers and architectural bureaus to supply custom furniture for high-end interiors. Other notable collections include the LayAir and Crocodil armchairs, alongside the Takuda coffee table.
