Founded in 2000 by Russel Koskela and Sasha Titchkosky, Koskela is an Australian design company born from a desire to create with a courageous mindset and strong social conscience. The founders left their corporate careers to build a business centered on Australian manufacturing and integrity. Their vision remains central to the company's success.
Koskela operates with the core purpose of "Designing for Good." In 2017, it became Australia’s first furniture and lighting company to achieve B Corp certification, reflecting its commitment to ethical practices. The company has set ambitious goals for its future, aiming for total circularity by 2027 and absolute-zero emissions by 2035.
A deep respect for Australia's Indigenous culture drives many of Koskela's social impact projects. The company collaborates with First Nations artists and communities, creating unique designs that celebrate their customs and practices. These projects have returned over $1.6 million to these communities, demonstrating how great design can be used to effect social change.
