Petite Friture is an independent French design editor founded in 2009 by Amélie du Passage. Based in Montreuil, the company collaborates with emerging and established international designers to produce its distinctive collections, rather than reselling other brands. The company has a global presence, with its products available in more than 70 countries.
The brand's aesthetic is often described as poetic and playful. Its collections focus on creating objects that evoke emotion. One of its most iconic pieces is the Vertigo lamp, designed by Constance Guisset. Other notable product lines include the Week-End outdoor collection by Studio Brichet Ziegler and the Fromme collection by Tom Chung.
Petite Friture states a commitment to responsible production. A significant portion of its manufacturing, 70 percent, is located in Europe. The company reports that much of its furniture can be disassembled for recycling and uses recyclable packaging. Since 2010, the Vertigo lamp has been manufactured in partnership with APF France handicap, a French non-profit for disability rights.
