Bend Goods is a Los Angeles design studio founded in 2010 by Gaurav Nanda. Drawing from his background as an automotive sculptor for General Motors, Nanda applies a unique technical precision to furniture design, focusing on the "art of the bend." The studio is dedicated to the intersection of sculptural form and structural engineering.
The brand first gained recognition for its innovative use of wire, redefining the material's possibilities with pieces like the Lucy Chair. This iconic wire-work chair earned a permanent place in the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA) collection. Each piece is crafted through a process of hand-shaping and spot-welding, resulting in furniture that is both expressive and structurally sound.
Bend Goods' work explores the relationship between thin and thick, light and heavy, and open and solid forms. The company's product lines, including the Wire and Tube collections, are designed for indoor and outdoor use. With a focus on durability and recyclable materials, the brand creates lasting pieces designed to minimize consumption and environmental impact.
