Frama is a multi-disciplinary design studio based in Copenhagen, Denmark, specializing in minimalist furniture and apothecary goods. Founded in 2011 by Niels Strøyer Christophersen, the brand operates out of the historic St. Pauls Apotek. This 1878 pharmacy space heavily influences the company's identity. Frama functions as an in-house design studio, creating essentialist pieces that draw on Bauhaus principles and classic Scandinavian design.
The furniture catalog focuses on simple geometries and solid natural materials. Pieces frequently incorporate birch, oak, cork, marble, and raw aluminum. Manufacturing takes place across Europe. Stone and cork items are produced in Portugal, while wooden seating is crafted in Lithuania. Notable furniture lines include the 01 Series of utilitarian seating inspired by early twentieth-century Nordic churches, alongside the Rivet collection of raw aluminum tables.
Rather than traditional upholstered sofas, Frama focuses on wooden frames and lounge seating. Pieces like the Easy Chair 01 retail around $1,500, while the Atelier Couch daybed is priced near $4,000. Alongside its furniture, the brand produces the St. Pauls Collection. This signature line of hand washes and fragrances is directly inspired by the company's historic headquarters.
