Sun at Six is a contemporary furniture design studio based in Brooklyn, New York, that specializes in solid wood pieces built using classical Chinese joinery. Founded in 2017 by siblings Antares and Capella Yee, the brand merges modern silhouettes with historical craftsmanship. Every piece is designed in-house and manufactured at the family's own factory in China. This setup allows them to preserve traditional Ming and Qing dynasty techniques, constructing furniture entirely without nails or screws.

The studio uses high-quality materials and maintains strict environmental standards. Sun at Six operates with FSC Chain of Custody, ISO 14001, and SA8000 certifications. Their collections feature sustainably sourced white oak and fast-growing pressed moso bamboo. These woods are treated with house-made tenna oil finishes. For upholstery and accents, they source full-grain, vegetable-tanned leathers from a family-owned tannery in Italy. The resulting aesthetic is serene and warm.

Signature items highlight the brand's exposed traditional joinery. Popular seating options include the modular fabric Yam Sofa and the solid oak Ember Chair. By partnering directly with master artisans, Sun at Six counters negative manufacturing stereotypes and showcases the artistry of Chinese craftsmanship. Their work has even been authenticated for the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco and featured in the historic Forbidden City in Beijing.
